Aunt Bea's Fabric is an online fabric store (www.auntbeasfabric.com) located in Portland OR focusing on Japanese and user friendly apparel fabrics (denim, knits, linen, lawn, and double gauze, oh my!). The shop was founded in 2005 when Bea's fabric stash outgrew her sewing room (it could happen to you!) Maya is the co-owner and loves that checking sewing blogs like Made by Rae is part of her JOB... Awesome!

I personally love Bea and Maya's taste for fun and beautiful prints, like this gorgeous Alexander Henry floral lawn:
This floral cotton print (Dena Designs for Free Spirit) would be perfect for a girl's top or dress:
And check out these lovely fabrics from Yuwa! Here's a peak at just a few of the lovely fabrics you could choose from if you win this giveaway:

ReplyDeleteI love everything with owls on it - working with owls in my free time as a volunteer, I love decorating my home with the feathered friends, too!
ReplyDeletethegreeneyedspirit AT gmail DOT com
Really? I have to pick just one type of fabric? It really all depends on my mood. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I'm in the fabric store...I want it all. I'm really into polk-a-dots right now, but I love a good eclectic patter too. I am usually drawn to bright colors...orange, yellow but I'm known to go black and white frequently too. I hunt for awesome and fun boy fabrics, but my collection has a wide variety of things in it. I have a slight problem with grabing things that catch my eye...which could be a fun stripe pattern...or my cows in a field of poppies fabric...which I love, but I still have no idea why.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I can pin point exactly what I'm drawn to! I love bold, contemporary prints as well as soft, super girly, florals! Who am I kidding? I love it all! Thanks for the great giveaway!

I always lean toward whimsical, modern prints. The problem is that when I go to make something, I never have any solids or simple coordinating fabrics.
ReplyDeletei love all kinds of fabric, but i am always drawn to the japanese imports with tiny creatures...robots, owls, pretty much anything!
ReplyDeletemary (dot) kellerman (at) gmail (dot) come
Love bright, colorful prints, but lately find myself drawn to geometric prints & solids.
ReplyDeletebelinda at gelhausen dot org
I am drawn to so many different things - from some of amy butler to some (NOT all) of Kaffe to ALL of denyse schmidt and heather ross - I don't think there's one thing that distinguishes it - I just KNOW it when I see it! As for the lovely Yuwa fabrics - I love those dots - the kei honeycomb and I love that print with the trees up there - the Hokkoh Forest - in fact, I'm going back to bea's to look again!! elizabethlehman@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a great contest! Thanks! I am drawn to geometric prints in general and I also rarely encounter a paisley I don't love. wooldurham {at} gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI like lots of bright colors!! :) And usually smaller prints because I make a lot of smaller items and big prints just don't work out so well. I could really use that baking fabric up there. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI loooove fabric. I love piles of it to look at. (I don't like to cut it)
ReplyDeleteI am particularly drawn to florals. I need to do some pillow covers, maybe this would motivate me!

I tend to gravitate towards prints that have birds and trees for some reason, but I really love funky fabrics as well! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletediallen86314@gmail.com
I'm drawn to medium styles-- medium sized prints, medium hue of colors, etc. Sounds really boring when I type it out. :) I don't especially love big bold colors, or light pastels. I love warm colors, and I love when fabric comes in coordinating colors. Makes it easier to see possibilities!
ReplyDeletejeff.bethany.davis@gmail.com
I think I'm pretty good at picking lots of different patterns, but I often get stuck in a blue/green colorway rut. I love blues and greens, but I do live reds and oranges too, and even yellow, so I should really buy more of those colors because I always need to buy more fabric, right? Cltrash at ymail dot com
ReplyDeleteI love corduroy, but don't use it enough. Lately I've been buying a lot of gorgeously ugly fabrics.

ReplyDeleteI am definitely drawn to the more eclectic prints and my stash really needs some simple coordinates but I would be compelled to purchase that clock print - it is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love vintage florals and pretty much anything pink! My little girl has changed my opinion on the color :)
ReplyDeleteI've just gotten into sewing and I'm in love. I'm currently on bold prints since I've haven't gotten the courage to sew clothes yet, it's just bags and such.
ReplyDeleteI am drawn to all sorts of fabric...that's the problem! I am working on a quilt at the moment and it would appear that I am not drawn to Purple or black and white, or plains either. I need to work on those. millieandcolm at hotmail dot com

I love fabrics with polka dots, florals, eclectic prints like the forks, knives, and spoons print above, linen or tuille! But I never wear these fabrics, mainly shirts in a solid color such as a muted orange, brown or black with floral patterned skirts or jeans.

ReplyDeleteI like a little bit of everything... lately I'm on a batik phase. Especially blue batik prints. My go-to fabric is polka dots though. Always polka dots.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... somehow, even though I tell myself other colors are nice, my shelves are filled with blue! Blue of any shade or variation, but blue nonetheless. I have always loved medium scale florals and anything with an art nouveau aestetic. wigray06 at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI'm drawn to blues and reds. Not too into florals.
ReplyDeletearjanz at xplornet dot com
I am always drawn to BIG prints. It's really a problem for me. I make clothes for a newborn and a 2 year old and they can't handle the huge prints, plus I never ever have solids on hand or stripes to use to make bias trim, piping, etc. I'm trying to work on it though, ever so slowly, by forcing myself to buy extra solids and small prints when I need them for a project so my stash evens out. Would love to win, I'm in a sewing slump with this new baby girl taking all my time. jadelovesbrynn(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI'll never get tired of polka dots. I'd be happy with some Amy Butler's Full Moon in every color in every project I ever make!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite fabrics seem to be tiny prints...either polka dots (which make you dizzy looking at it), owls, or little robots.

I sew for my girls so I guess I would have to say seasonal fabrics. I make them outfits for the holiday, heart dresses for Valentines, Easter gets two outfits fancy for church, and then a dress just for egg hunting. I guess i would be that crazy lady.
ReplyDeletesweetangelclothing@gmail.com
I am totally on the hunt for unique prints and textured fabrics for little boys. Small geometrics like the circle fabrics above are great for accents on boys clothes. Boys fabrics are much more difficult to find that stuff for little girls - because toddler dresses look great in so many prints.

I tend to gravitate to anything Orange, Pink, or Turquoise so a print in those colors will get my attention. I love big flowers, but when purchasing things go with paisley print, tone on tone textured print or polka dots.

You know what colors I am REALLY drawn to? There was a Momo Tomato line that was beautiful. Something about a deep raspberry red and that kind of stone-ground mustard-y yellow. I am also always drawn to the colors of Etsuko Furuya. I can picture making big huge pillows for every single room of the house with those fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome giveaway!

Oh man. I'm drawn to all kinds of fabrics... i have a problem. The one kind of fabric that I HAVE to buy if I see it is cute (not baby-ish) boy flannel. Why? Because I was tramatized when I DIDN't buy a really cute boy flannel ONE time because it was going on sale the next day, so I decided to go back the next day. BIG MISTAKE. It took me MONTHS of looking find it again. Lesson learned. So now I compusively buy it. FREAK! maleahbliss@msn.com

I think I am attracted to fabric in general (like I would love to move to and live in fabric store...8). I like flowers a lot, small animals too, and abstract prints sometimes as well. And I am not attreacted to black or pink, otherwise I love them all
ReplyDeleteLenka zavinacik@gmail.com
I am almost always drawn to large florals. And if the color orange is involved...even better!

I'm working on decorating my apartment so right now I'm looking with the idea of making pillows. I like the polka dots and the grey flowered print.

I like retro prints from the 60-70´

Slightly technical looking nature prints are my favourite, the trees above are gorgeous. I'd love to make a skirt of it -

ReplyDeleteI love the newspaper prints and polka dots. I am always drawn to those things. Oh, and flowers!!! I love flowers. Let's just say FABRIC. I love fabric!

ReplyDeletethank you : mikthasq(at)gmail(dot)com
I love bright and colorful prints. My girls love anything with flowers and cute animals. So we have to get just about everything.
ReplyDeleteI am drawn to bright, chervon and funky. And always a good vintagey floral!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE FABRIC....but the ones I find myself buying are modern prints.
ReplyDeleteburns052700@hotmail.com
I LOVE the first vintage clock fabric print! They've also got it in red Love
ReplyDeletebeckage at gmail(dot) com
I am all about LIME GREEN. Lime green is the best.
ReplyDeleteAs for prints, I really like nice contrasty "modern" prints, especially with tree/leaf/botanical themes.
I didn't think I had one kind I prefer until I looked over at the stash and saw 8 different kinds of polka dots. I guess that's my answer!

ReplyDeleteI love so many different things. I love sweet little Japanese prints, and polka dots, and stripes, and novelty prints...I can't choose just one. My chances are SO slim to win, but I'm gonna do it anyway. The fabric is excellent. I cannot help myself.

My fabric is in see-thru totes, and I keep seeing plaid and checks. Not that I don't love other fabric, but it seems to be what I buy. I'd love to have a chance to break the plaid pattern (pun intended!) and try something new!
ReplyDeletemandiblack@gmail.com
I'm drawn to the very graphic damasks and large florals - much like Kate Spain for Moda.
ReplyDeletesonya dot missbossypants at gmail dot com
I would have to say I am drawn to two specific prints on fabric: damask & polka dot. I love all colors, but I seem to end up with more blue-green fabric in my shelves at home, I think it's because I try not to buy so much PINK fabric (since I have a little girl who loves pink) that I end up with the opposite. It seems that my collection of fabric grows by the hour, but all the different prints, color combination and textures are so much fun...I cant stop :)

I like all kind of prints in all sorts of colours. It is too hard to choose just one.
ReplyDeleteI had to go look at my fabrics and of course I tend to pick up polka dots in all colors :) My other fabrics that I tend to buy lots of always have animals and flowers on them. Owls, birds, cats, and whatever I think the girls would like.
ReplyDeletecsharri@comcast.net
Could the Japanese prints be any more perfect? Gah!
ReplyDeleteI find myself drawn to vintage-y prints in unusual color combinations. Fabric I buy has to evoke a feeling or emotion...otherwise, it stays at the shop.
i'm always drawn to eclectic prints! bold, bright and beautiful! :) jenngreutman at gmail (dot) com

ReplyDeleteOhh...what a lovely give-away! I seem to be drawn to reds and blues and I love polka-dots and large scale prints. I am trying to buy more tone on tone prints, fabric with words and more yellow! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteYay more giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI like bright colored prints - florals and stripes.
katiesredumbrella(at)gmail(dot)com
Looking at my fabric collection, I don't know that there's any rhyme or reason to what I'm drawn to. But I love florals, green, red, and brown, and prints that remind me of my bedsheets growing up. (I'm the opposite of my mom's civil war era stuff) jennifermodom at hotmail dot com.
ReplyDeleteI love retro type prints right now but what I usually buy is whatever my four year old picks for herself (i.e. ultra girlie/princess fabrics/prints).
ReplyDeletejessihooper at qwest dot net
I like very architectural/geometric prints as well as very abstract stuff. I dislike florals and traditional "calicos" and stay away unless the colors are just right...speaking of colors, i prefers the purples/greens and yellows/orange/browns. Red is a bad bad color for many reasons the main one being hubby and I both went to Ga Tech! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!
I tend to be drawn to novelty and Japanese prints. I have one boy and another on the way, so these prints are great for bibs, burps and bowling shirts.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually drawn to modern and colorful prints. THANKS so much for the chance at a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I love that forest print! I am drawn to vintage-looking birds, and tiny dots.
ReplyDeleteLooking through my stash, I guess I like feminine and vintage fabric.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving over sized polka dot prints right now. I love the polka dot prints from Yuwa!
ReplyDeletereally like just about any fabric and I'm drawn mostly to orange, but really like gray, lime and yellow combination.
ReplyDeleteIt depends? For me, right now anything modern and colorful. For my baby girl more muted browns, pinks, oranges. For my boy - modern or whimsical brown/blue/greens. But honestly? I just have a fabric problem. I WANT IT ALL! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!

My faves are the small (but not tiny) prints. Usually florals for me or cute cartoonish prints for the little ones.

While I love all fabric, for some strange reason I tend to gravitate towards red and bright pink prints so this holiday season I'm making an extra effort to make my crafty presents in blues and greens instead. Japanese imports with funky or floral prints are among my favourites – thanks for the giveaway!
