ACK I am so excited! Since fabric is my most very best favorite thing in the whole wide world (*ahem*...besides my adorable children and handsome Mr Rae...*ahem*), I've decided to do a series of fabric giveaways for the month of December and a few of my favorite fabric shops will be here giving away some very. awesome. stuff to you guys, my readers! Hooray!!!
I am not usually the most organized or focused of people (heck I've been up five times since beginning this post for coffee and chocolate covered pretzels. OK FINE and some Candy Cane JoJos if you really must know) but I promise you I will get as many of these giveaways posted as possible before the month is up and I get distracted by something else (like Celebrate the Boy).
Today you are the Luckiest of Readers because Cynthia of Fabricworm is giving away 2 yards of fabric from the organic Circa 50 line! Woot! For those of you who don't already know, Fabricworm carries an amazingly comprehensive selection of modern prints and japanese imports. I remember last year when I first saw that cute little felt inchworm crawling it's way across a bolt of fabric. I just knew that woman had good taste. It turned out that Cynthia is also a mother to two boys and many of her fabrics and combination quilt bundles are boy-friendly, something which I have always appreciated as a mother of a boy. The other thing that has always impressed me about Cynthia is that she is so friendly and sweet and her customer service is fantastic.
Here are some of my favorite fabrics at Fabricworm right now. I'm such a sucker for elephants so if I had a baby boy right now (gah! there's absolutely NO news or even thoughts of news, I swear!!!) I would do the entire nursery based on this print:
Cloud 9 my happy nursery |
Patty Young Zen Garden Sherbet |
Far Far Away II Heather Ross green rapunzel |
Innocent Crush Bubble Burst Rich |
THE GIVEAWAY!!!
I was over the moon last year when I saw the new organic Circa 50 line from Birch Fabrics (Cynthia's fabric company) by Monaluna. SO PERFECT for sewing for boys! Or anyone for that matter!
Fabricworm is giving away 2 YARDS of Circa 50 by Monaluna for Birch Fabrics + shipping (domestic or international) to the winner of this giveaway. The winner may pick any print(s) from Circa 50 as long as the total yardage adds up to 2 yards (so 8 fat quarters, four 1/2 yards, two single yards, OR one 2-yard cut of fabric). Make sense?
I will keep this giveaway open for FIVE DAYS and will close it on Monday night sometime around 8 PM EDST.

I'm a finished project crafter. I enjoy the process too, but I get most excited by the end result. I want fast results, but don't always pick fast projects, so sometimes the longer ones end up sitting around while I gather the motivation to finish. I love sewing most of all and sew clothes for myself and my daughter. cltrash at ymail dot com
ReplyDeleteI'm a quilter, but I dabble in sewing (just got a serger for my anniversary, so looking to branch out!) Your All About the Boy posts were invaluable since my first kiddo was a boy, and I was stumped over what to make for him. So, thanks!
ReplyDeletem a n d a l e i (at) g m a i l
I sew clothes for myself, along with clothes for my kids and purses. I love a quick project - instant gratification is the best.
ReplyDeletehmmm...I do a lot of quilting, but I've also branched out into making clothes for myself and a bunch of little ones. I'm currently in the midst of trying to finish up 4 quilts for Christmas presents.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I love Fabric Worm and almost as importantly, I love that Circa line. I do some quilting and from time to time try to sew some clothing for my boys. I DO NOT sew for myself because that would just be a sad state of affairs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this wonderful giveaway. I'm a fabric hoarder of the worst kind.

I recently came back to sewing after a several year hiatus. I used to sew figure skating dresses, now I sew mainly for the three fabulous kids in my life.
ReplyDeletesoniarp33 @ yahoo dot com
I sew for my daughter. Clothes mostly, but I've made toys and some useful stuff too. I just don't get quilting -- likely because I knit, spin, dye and weave too so 'blankets' to me usually start with fiber rather than fabric.
ReplyDelete(email on my blogspot profile -- just clicky my name :) )
I LOVE to sew for my kids.
ReplyDeletejessicaaverett(at)gmail(dot)com
I started sewing clothes but I've mostly gone over to the quilting side at this point. I LOVE the Circa 50 line of fabric!
ReplyDeleteI have been loving this fabric since it came out! I sew for my home, my son and myself. I make clothes and toys, pillows and curtains.
ReplyDeletecowilcox@gmail.com
I do a little of everything: quilting, kids sewing, crafts, and dressmaking for me!
ReplyDeleteskousgard(at)yahoo(dot)com
I sew all sorts of stuff - quilts mostly lately, but also crafty items and clothes for my kids. My email is in my blogger profile.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to me! I am a quilter wannabe. Sometimes I make my kids suffer and wear what I make them. I'd love to win! hicken at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI'm a dabbler. I've made lots of easy stuff (think pj pants, small quilts, pot holders). I plan big projects but never get around to doing them.
ReplyDeleteMmm... A lazy quilter? The worst kind, I know. Although I've recently given birth to the most adorable girl twins and I think my lazyness has to do a lot with it. Anyway, I love fabric, I love projects (the miriad of unfinished projects I have), I love sewing clothes for my babies but, unfortunately, I don't have time to do everything I want. Such a pity.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this awesome giveaway.

I am trying just about everything. Started making clothes for my daughter then my son. Then started quilting and making crafts and doll clothes. Thanks again
ReplyDeletelbroadstreet@tds.net
I sew for my kids. And for me. And for my friens kids :)
ReplyDeleteMostly knits, quilting from time to time.
I am a everything-sewer : I love to sew for myself, but it's not often, and for now I'm sewing all the Xmas presents I'll be giving !
ReplyDeleteyour giveaway is woonderful, thanks !
laraignee71(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm an OK sewer, i tried quilting, but never actually finished one, i like making little toys, and stuff for my little guy, and little bits for around the house. (i sewed my own purse, and like little reusable snack bags for my husband to take to work, that kind of thing)
ReplyDeleteI've made myself a few skirts, but haven't tried any real bit clothing items, or actual sewn form a real cut-it-out-from-tissue-paper-pattern yet.
alien_sunset AT yahoo DOT com
awesome giveaway! i do a lot of different kinds of sewing - for my kids, myself, others, our home. i am a perpetual upcycler, so buying fabric like this is something i don't often do. so i would love, love, love to win! ;)

ReplyDeleteIt’s a great giveaway, I just start to do a bit of quilting, I sew blankets for babies, rag-quilt, cover for pillows, cover for notebooks, bag.
ReplyDeleteinbaleg@gmail.com
Hi there Rae. I've been enjoying your blog for a while and think the potential for free fabric is the perfect incentive to break the silence and leave a comment.
ReplyDeleteI am a quilter and sewer of cool baby/children stuff. I recognize several of the fabrics in your post as I have them in my (smallish)fabric stash, which I'll be digging into as I've almost finished the holiday knits. Sewing is so much faster!
fordl2801 at aol dot com
i'm still fairly new to sewing and quilting, having started just over a year ago. i mostly make quilts, i'd like to start sewing clothes for myself and for kids (although i have none, i have TONS of oliver + s sewing patterns hoarded for the future). right now i'm working on a string quilt for my mom for christmas (it's on my blog if you want to check it out). thanks so much for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletetingtongandthings (at) gmail (dot) com
I love sewing and tackle clothing for my children and husband, quilts, toys and any other project that surfaces or there is a need for in our home! The creative process is a fantastic way to shrug off stress and frustration while creating something beautiful and useful - a win-win! Thanks for letting us play along.
ReplyDeletednagrl83@gmail.com
I'm an aspiring sewer, and creating small projects is my best bet as I bore easily and will leave things unfinished for long periods of time. Lately I've been designing clutches and small purses. I love making anything at all, so I'm always getting more ideas than I can keep up with. I very much need to begin filling my fabric collection with modern prints and not the old florals that everyone keeps giving to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for having fun giveaways!

I have come a long way in the last year. I started as a true beginner, just really knew how to thread the machine and sew a straight line. I took lessons, read lots of blogs, and tried a lot of new things this year. Now I sew clothes for my kids and me, have sewn most of my holiday gifts, and even own a serger!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute fabrics!
Those fabrics are beautiful! I'm a kids clothing and quilter who sometimes dabbles into clothing for me and historical 18th century costuming ;)
ReplyDeletealdrich dot melissa at gmail dot com
I sew mainly clothes, for myself & my girls, I'm going to be brave next year and make a quilt!
ReplyDeleteI sew a little bit of everything. Mostly kids clothes but I also sew crafty things and have made a small quilt or two with ideas for way many more! theandersons at suddenlink.net
ReplyDeleteHi Rae - I'm a beginning sewer, I just finished the Intro to Sewing series at Whipstitch (aren't they great?) and I'm hooked. As a stay at home mom, sewing is a great way for me to keep my mind sharp... every project is like a puzzle. Your blog has been a great inspiration. I would love to win this fabric to start building my collection. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeletepowell dot allison at gmail dot com
What a fun giveaway!! I sew for my kids and other little projects for around the house. I even stitched up a patchwork quilt once and am trying to get the gumption to do 2 more (so one for each of my kids). Thanks for offering such a great giveaway.
ReplyDeletemissalayneous3 at gmail dot com
I quilt, sew clothes for me, sew randomness for family, sew cuteness for friends' babies (since there are none of my own currently)...I'm currently working on a quilt for my brother who loudly protested when my sisters had gotten quilts and he hadn't!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway!

I like to sew, but if a project takes too much time or thought or if the tiniest thing goes wrong, i will never finish it. I have two quilts waiting to be machine quilted but i'm afraid that it would be a disaster so i haven't even attempted! courtneyrsl at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteBeautiful giveaway! I looove these fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI am an obsessionnal sewer. I sew clothes for myself, my husband and his kids, for my friends and their kids. I also love making bags, pouches and softies. I also made most of the textile deco at home: curtains, bed sheets... Yep,obsessionnal sewer seems like the right definition ;-)
spunkybelgian@gmail.com
I started as a quilter at the ripe old age of 8. Now, I pretty much sew anything and everything as long as it doesn't require too much task committment...somehow having a 3 year old and a 1 year old has made me a little scattered:)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!! FABRIC!! Awesome, Rae! I love this shop and I am dying for some of the Birch fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI am a semi-experienced sewer, I guess. I sew for myself, my kids and others too. I'm working on my first quilt top right now!! I have to have it done by Christmas... it's for my new niece, who is due to be born right at Christmas time.
Oh I hope I win one of these giveaways!
I have three little girlies (5, 3, and 1) and I sew and sew and sew for them. I'm a quick-and-dirty seamstress, and I really like a finished project.
ReplyDeleteI like to sew clothes mostly. I just finished a 'Liverpool' (Amy Butler) shirt which I am delighted with. I've also recently made some home dec projects, including cushion covers, and napkins. I have a teenage daughter to sew for, and two new nieces, so my Bernina has been busy!
ReplyDeleteAck! How perfect! We have a wee little boy expected in February and I am always looking for great boy fabric! Thanks for all the info :)
ReplyDeleteI primarily sew home decor/craft projects, but I have made one shirt for myself and have a ton of ideas for my baby niece. Andalina@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sewer and a quilter...lately more sewing than quilting. I think I'm just a fabric lover and anything that uses fabric is my kind of craft :)
I am a "want to try it ALL" sewer! I only wish there was more time in the day! :D I am new to the sewing world... only a few months now but I totally LOVE it! I have so many things that I want to try. Sewing is fabulous b/c you can continue to grow and learn new things daily!
ReplyDeleteI sew clothing for my children (mostly my daughter since my son is pretty particular with what he wears. I sew home goods and accessories to give to friends, and when I have some free time, I occasionally sew clothes for myself.
ReplyDeleteI started out sewing for myself, handbags and such,(in fact the buttercup bag was the 3rd bag I ever sewed!) then I started selling a few things on etsy now I hardly have time to sew for me anymore! Of course I also sew for my kids all the time and most of my projects are inspired by them.
ReplyDeleteI also LOVE LOVE LOVE this line of fabrics and have for a long time!
handmadetherapy(at)gmail.com
I'm a...not sewer. I wish I could sew better, but right now my skills are limited to simple altering and hemming pants. I've made a couple of pieces that I would never wear, but would love to learn.
ReplyDeletekimberly722.thompson@gmail.com
I'm a beginning sewer...trying to teach myself through books and blogs. And I'm loving it! Right now I'm focused on sewing gifts for people (bags, playhouses, coasters, dog collars). I'm trying to better my skills so that someday I might have the courage to tackle clothes or quilts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your hard work, Rae!
ktbbc01 at aol dot com
What a fantastic giveaway! I like to sew all sorts of things. I make things for the house (pillows, curtains), some quilts but lots of little quilted things, clothes for the kids, an occassional stuffed animal, etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the patience, or skill, for clothes for me or quilts, but I like to make things for my little boy, bags and pouches, little things for about the house and so on... That's about all I have the time for too!
ReplyDeletediane_aoto @ yahoo . co. uk
great giveaway!! although, i might not be able to wait and i might go buy some right now! i do a lot of random sewing, but love sewing for my nieces and nephews the most. of course, there were always some things i couldn't part with and luckily now i'm sewing for my own baby who will be born before i know it!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness...this is beyond awesome...love the retro!!
ReplyDeleteI've just started to quilt in the last 9 months or so...Im an avid scrapper and find that this just fits me....- I've also done a few bags...I just got a serger so clothes are my next project!!
I'm an amateur at sewing and trying to learn from reading all these great crafty blogs. I became interested after having my kids and try to sew for my 2 yr old boy and 6 month old girl.
ReplyDeleteI mainly quilt, but would like to start making clothes for my son, if he wouldn't grow so fast!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy sewing immensely, I'm just not that great at it. I love making bags & scarves & other accessories. I'd love this fabric! dalkam at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI am usually just a quilter. But this Christmas my goal is to make all my gifts. Including some stuff for my little nephews. A bit intimidating, but an exciting challenge! The Birch fabrics are fantastic. They would definitely come in handy :)
ReplyDeletesun_flower5@hotmail.com
I sew clothes for kids and gifts (like purses) for others. I'm attempting a flannel nightgown for my mom's Christmas gift this year (she requested it -- not MY preference, haha)!
ReplyDeletedulcimer at gmail dot com
I am a beginner. Trying to teach myself to sew for my daughter. What an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'd say I'm an "anything but clothes" sewer, though I think I could pull of baby/kids clothes should I ever have the need (hopefully I won't have a need anytime soon, though!). Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have sewed all my life (since about 6). I sewed for myself and then my daughter and now great nieces and nephews. I sew toys and clothes and accessories, just about anything you can name I have at least attempted. I can't wait to see the fabric at fabricworm!
ReplyDeletei LOVE LOVE LOVE these fabrics!!!! I sew for my 20 month old boy and these fabrics would be so fun to make things for him. I have made a quilt and have 3 more that i need to make in the new year. right now I am making christmas pillows for my couch and gathered clutches, scarves and aprons for gifts this holiday season. my sewing machine is getting a workout!!
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics are so cute, and I hear that they are extremely soft!
ReplyDeleteI sew for my kids mostly and I also sew bags!
I am so excited for your fabric giveaways!
tmsatterwhite@hotmail.com
I make little things.... pajama pants, pillows, bracelets, bags, skirts for my girls, etc... but I'm so happy when I'm sewing.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what kind of sewer I am. Intermediate?? I've made clutches, pjs, curtains, a quilt, a runner... There's probably nothing I won't try, as long as I can understand the pattern! This would be great to win, I want to jump on the pillow bandwagon!
ReplyDeleteI am a dad of two small boys and I love boy-friendly fabric lines! I sew clothes, toys and anything else fabric I can think of for them. I also like to quilt (although I haven't even started the baby quilt for my 5-month old--eek!
ReplyDeleteabijahdad@gmail.com
I love to make just about anything, and I try to do as many new things as possible. I make little dresses for my girl, have a quilt in the works for my new baby boy, baby shoes, pillows, bags, maternity clothes for me - you name it, I'll give it a shot. Reading various blogs and looking through my mother's kids clothes sewing books from the 80's :) push me to keep trying new techniques. Actually, I made a knit version of your spring ruffle top for a maternity top, and it was one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI've been dying to try out some of the adorable organic prints from Birch and Cloud9!
Sarah (sarah AT vraeden.com)
What a wonderful giveaway! I'm a begginner sewer; I sew small things such as Christmas tree ornaments (my current occupation), toys, slippers and skirts for my daughter and I've also tried bags but I've yet to find the right interfacing...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!
ap_lemos at yahoo dot com
I sew for my children. Clothes for the girls. Lunch boxes, totes, guitar straps, music accessories, you name it. I'd love the win. Thanks for the giveaway. civengrmomATcoxDOTnet
ReplyDeleteI am one of those people that like the progress of sewing but I love finishing projects more then that :)
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when I mostly sewed cloths but lately I got more into embellishing (boths clothes and the apartment)and quilting! I really can't explain the attraction to quilting especially since I now own more quilts then I will ever use but it is quite irresistible :)
Much like buying fabric. There is more around then I will use in the next two years but once I find something pretty it just has to come live with me :)
I am a terribly imprecise sewer, which would make me a terrible quilter. I mainly sew for my daughter and occasionally me. I do love all things crafty and mid-century modern so this fabric is just for me!
ReplyDeletewotocho at telus dot net
I enjoy sewing and trying out new patterns and tutorials. I think I'm getting better at it. I like to challenge myself. I enjoy sewing for friends and family. Things like bags, purses and clothes for cute little nieces. I like to blog occasionally about my projects on my blog Thread Fancy: http://madebychristina.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteLately though I have been sewing for my baby girl that is due in February!

ReplyDeleteI'm a serial project starter - and sometimes I finish projects. I sew mostly clothing for my little girl and create sewing patterns for children (I sell on etsy).
I'm horribly afraid of interfacing and making bags.
I LOVE the fresh colors of the Birch collection!

I have an Etsy shop that is keeping me busy! It is a lot of fun! Unfortunately I rarely sew anything for ME! Maybe one day....
ReplyDeleteapril {at} forsheedesigns.com
I usually sew for myself, but just started to make stuff for the kids.
ReplyDeleteI quilt and dabble at useful handmades that are not apparel. Would love to put these goodies to use!
ReplyDeleteamelia.din@gmail.com
I started sewing a lot more when I had my daughter 2 years ago. I'm pretty darn good at making baby carriers, I do kids' clothes, the occassional bag. I've made cloth napkins and curtains and throw pillows. Right now, I have a darling purple and black plaid skirt cut out for my daughter, just waiting to be sewn up.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of my sewing is for liners for knitted bags, repairing clothing, and quilted throws (can't really call them quilts). I enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI am a fabricaholic too! I love all the lovely prints. I sew a little of everything. I love making bags, clothes, toys, home items. Unfortunately, my kids don't want me to make them anything anymore :( It is too uncool.
ReplyDeletemagwilky@yahoo.com

OMG!
ReplyDeleteFantastic fabrics!
In the arts of sewing'm a beginner, but I do cross stitch since 10 years ... so I like to do things that I can put embroidery and sewing together.
For now, I'm just making small bags, tissue holder, Bibs ... someday I'll be like you!

I sew mostly clothes for my daughter and myself, and every now and then my husband will ask me to do something really simple. I am also always looking for thing to sew around the house (curtains, pillows,..) I enjoys sewing for my daughter the best though because its such a fast rewarding project. And because tiny things are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE FABRIC! I like to make baby blankets and other crafty things!
ReplyDeletejenlea2000 at hotmail dot com
I mostly sew for my kids and gifts, although I'm trying to sew more clothes for myself too.
ReplyDeleteI sew clothes most of the time, for myself or my kids, but I also love to quilt. I have been drooling over that Circa 50 line for a while now...we have a mid-century house and I adore mid-century design.
ReplyDeleteI still consider myself a beginner, but I like quilting the best. Recently I tried making myself a dress and was pleasantly pleased! I've got a baby dress in the works for a Christmas present, fingers crossed. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! I am mainly a quilter though I also find myself making bags, and kid clothes for my nephews. I am a HUGE fan of fabricworm... THANKS for an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteschoolofcrafts@gmail.com
I sew mostly for others. My husband has an array of boxers that I sewed and our cats benefit from my talents in terms of toys and sleeping pads. My goal next year is to sew something for myself, I'd love to start with a quilt. laniamore@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI sew childrens clothes, handbags, stuffed toys...a bit of everything! My next project is to try my hand at quilting :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering me...those fabrics are super nice.
jennifercunha@aol.com
I dabble in all types of sewing. I'm making my first quilt, I've made a dress, and I've made countless pillows, pouches and bags. In the new year, I hope to finish my first quilt as well as some others, and I'm participating in my first sew-along(s) soon!
ReplyDeleteparandroid7 at gmail dot com
I'm a quilter. I had everything I need to sew children's clothing but did not have the courage. Even a simple pillow case scares me.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I love that happy nursery fabric! Most of my sewing projects are children's clothes, softies, or decor for their room - although I'm no expert sewer to be sure! I tend to bite off more than I can chew and then tear my hair out in a rage halfway through the project. Somehow they all get completed eventually, though, warts and all!
ReplyDeletei am a quilter...i love piecing fabrics together...i do wish that i would branch out to sewing kids for my kids though!
ReplyDeletekrousegirl2 at aol dot com
hello... i'm from denmark, and i love to sew, and wish there where more hours in a day for al kinds of craft! I have justed learned to sew baby clothes for my little boy and love all the coulerfull fabrics :)my current project is wheat bags for the grandmothers for christmas.
ReplyDeletelyckeo@forum.dk
I quilt and craft with a mixture of other projects. I'm currently finishing up a christmas quilt for my baby sister in college...fingers crossed it gets finished in time!
ReplyDeleteI'm relatively new to sewing, but I've finally discovered that patterns are not intimidating, and yes, I can indeed line up quilt squares. I've made a quilt for each of my three children, some baby doll clothes, a pair of pajama pants, and way too many dresses for my little girl that doesn't need any more dresses. Sewing is absolutely fun and addicting!

ReplyDeletekammomile at yahoo dot com
I quilt and make clothes/accessories for my friends and myself!
ReplyDeleteI have always been a little crafty, but since my son was born 10 moths ago, I've found a renewed love of sewing and quilting, especially quick little projects that can be finished in a single nap time! I would love some great boy-friendly prints to play with- keeping my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeletejodee.hale@gmail.com
I sew for my etsy shop, for my kids, for gifts, anything I can!!! I am finishing up a quilt (only my second) for my middle daughter's christmas gift. Great giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! I am an apparel sewist pretty much exclusively, but if you can wear it, I'll try to sew it! My favorites to sew are jeans and fitted blouses for myself (hard to find a good fit in stores) and jammies and comfy clothes for my kids. I also sew most of my hubby's activewear - running shorts and shirts, and all of the scrubs he wears to work. The other doctors are so jealous of his custom made scrubs!
ReplyDeleteI started with a buttercup bag a few months ago (thank you!!!) and have been crazy excited about sewing ever since. I find smaller projects rewarding (purses, wallets, curtains, hair do-dads), but would like to start a larger project soon.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOUR BLOG - so inspiring - thx!!

I mainly sew for my daughter (18 months) and son (3 weeks) but lately I've been sewing a lot for friends and others wanting custom items. I just love sewing and have even done a quilt too :)
ReplyDeletekirsten_13@hotmail.com
I love fabric!! I sew anything and everything. I have 4 kids under the age of 5 that I wish I had more time to sew for, but my etsy shop and sewing backpacks seems to take up what little time I do have.
ReplyDeleteetsyteachermom at gmail dot
Well, I used to quilt but stopped - until a few weeks ago (now there's a small quilt top hanging over my door). I used to sew clothes for me but stopped - until a few months ago, when making my own seemed to make more sense for maternity wear. And I sew clothes for boys - soon to be two of them! So it looks like now I'll sew just about anything, right?
ReplyDeletei sew for the kids and crafts-haven't tried anything for myself in a long time!
ReplyDeleteI mostly sew for my son, a bit for myself and a lot for home decor. I actually just finished my first quilt and am now can't wait to make another one. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought and the end result was so loveable!
ReplyDeleteI have sewn clothes for my children, myself, even my husband! I quilt a lot and make little purses. I love fabric, too. Thanks for the chance to win! want2stamp at gmail dot com.

I started sewing clothes for myself when I was in high school, and a couple of years ago my mom got me started into quilting. Right now I'm in the middle of a stretch of 10 baby quilts for all of my friends who are pregnant, and throwing some Christmas crafts in there as well.

ReplyDeleteI am an everything but the kitchen sink sewer, I think, although not necessarily an overly accomplished one! Quilts, clothing, home decor, greeting cards, costumes...
ReplyDelete:)
I sew mostly kids (girls) clothes, but am hoping to branch out to boys clothes since having my first boy in April & I'd really like to make myself something. I have an Amy Butler pattern for a shirt I'd love to make & 2 yards would do it. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThese would be perfect for the baby boy quilt that I'm making for a grand nephew who is due in April!
ReplyDeleteI'm a long time sewer/quilter who just returned to the world of sewing/quilting after a much too long hiatus. As an empty nester, I'm enjoying the freedom to sew all day every day if I "sew" choose. Sewing/quilting fulfills me is ways that I don't have the words to describe.

Fabric giveaways are the best!
ReplyDeleteI am a self-taught sewer, I started two years ago when my daughter was born and it quickly became my favorite hobby, bordering on obsession :-)
Boys need all the help they can get when it comes to decent fabric prints - these are lovely. I'm currently sewing for my baby (he's due in mid Feb) - coats, dungarees, swaddling wraps... so your giveaway couldn't have been timed better!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I'm a sometimes seamstress of bags, the occasional patchwork quilt, dopp kits, and LOTS of pillow covers. With 3 boys between the ages of 11 and 16 very little clothing is made any longer but they love pillows! (and apparently my shopping bags as they always disappear...) Right now I am searching for snack pack fabrics and I see the perfect prints! (one way or another I'm gonna get me some! yah, gotta love birthdays and Christmas!!)
ReplyDeleteThank you for offering this giveaway!

ReplyDeletestacit (@) clemson (.) edu
I dabble in everything! Sometimes too much. :) I love to sew for my family. I love sewing for my kids because I can't get enough of how excited they get for homemade gifts. And I really, really love when I actually find something practical and useful to make for my husband, who is a hard person to shop for! I taught myself to sew a few years ago, and now...4 kids later...I find myself wishing I just had more time. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I am a completely random sewer! I have sewn one 2 quilts with one in the works. I mostly sew for my kids - pj pants, dresses etc. I would love to sew something for me but it scares me! I have more recently liked turning garage sale/thrift store finds into something new for my daughter. Fun giveaway Rae! nkmeldrim at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteLately I'm a sewer of little projects - things were I can see results quickly...ha! I've made clothing for our girls, and a few shirts for myself. My "to-do" list is always a lot longer than what I actually finish :-) But I love it!
ReplyDeletemichelejudd@gmail.com
I'm an amateur sewer and do mostly purses & aprons as gifts. I would love to get into clothes but am kind of intimidated! :) LOVE Fabricworm!!! I totally agree that they have the best selection of fabrics and the customer service is unparalleled.
ReplyDeletesamiamshep@gmail.com
I sew cloth diapers, kids/baby clothes, and wish I had time to quilt. I mean, I'm collecting scraps, and have patterns in mind but my 3 (almost 4!) kids seem to always need me for something!
ReplyDeleteAwesome fabrics! I can't think of a better thing to win!! garonnevik@yahoo.com
I am a beginner sewer and am trying to get better! I too have two boys so I'm loving these fabrics!!

I LOVE fabric and as most of us posting could possibly be called a fabric hoarder. I would (after seeing the previous post of your finished quilt-I loved it!) get some FFA to start my own quilt-my first-that's how much I loved yours. Anyway, I sew for my two girls and have made a few bags and love it. Thanks for the giveaway. bennekal (at) msn (dot) com

ReplyDeletetifstrick(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm a sewer of all types of things, I mainly like Crafty things or things for my home since they don't require fitting. I also love to sew for my kids now that it doesn't have to be so exact. I also like to make quilts.
ReplyDeleteamy.kirstensmom at gmail dot com
I love to quilt and sew clothing for myself......but I am a fly by the seat of my pants sewer. I tend to make it up as I go. I am hoping to find (and haven't been able to yet) a really good coat pattern for my son. He requested a homemade sweater or coat for Christmas. (How sweet is that?)
ReplyDeletetheflamingmoth at gmail.com
I am a beginning sewer, and I have a lot to learn! I have made some clothes for my girls, some crafty things, and I would love to learn how to quilt. The only problem is that I don't have a lot of cute fabric choices in my neck of the woods. :( This is an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeletekayteejo@hotmail.com
I'm a 24 yr old AVID quilter and I absolutly love fabric worm! Oh what I would give for some of the far far away II fabric! I'm in love with it! lol I've also started repurposing clothes for myslef and my neice and nephew but my heart is in quilting! Thanks! jm(dot)oneglobalmind(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI'm a quilter who sometimes tries to make clothes for little girl, hehe :)
ReplyDeletezabecc@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteYay for FABRIC!

ReplyDeletehovis1971@yahoo.com
I sew mostly crafts, small home decor, and toys.
ReplyDeletemihailescualexandra[at]gmail[dot]com
I make quilts, not as many lately as I have in the past. I make clothes for my daughter, I love to make crafty things (dolls, etc), and occasionally I try to make clothes for myself. The clothes for me haven't been to successful....
ReplyDeleteI just got back into sewing this spring (used to do quite a bit when I was younger) and love sewing bags & purses of all kinds. I'm also hoping to get into quilting. I absolutely love this fabric & already have all sorts of ideas swimming around in my head!
ReplyDeletemy.crafty.crap (at) live.com
I am a new sewer. I made my first skirt yesterday on my first ever use of my secondhand machine, and now daughter is stuffed because she will be wearing vintage (charity shop) pillowcases remodelled for 18 years. Thus far my tally is skirt, pillowcase dress, pot stand, taggie and one malformed toy. My aim is to do a new baby pack for Xmas, and also something for son, who has thus far only recieved one very wonky handmade quilt. I've done 2 single sized quilts entirely by hand. Boy, do I have patience. But now I have my machine, boo to that! I want fabric for kimon and pants for boy, and maybe a tunic for me. Mums are allowed to do stuff for themselves, sometimes?
ReplyDeleteI sew clothes for myself, my teenage girls, my 6 year old son and my 4 and 1 year old daughters. The two teenage boys don't appreciate handmade lol I also love to quilt and sew dolls. I knit and crochet as well. Love these fabrics, they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeletectrich8@lusfiber.net
I am a quilter and my mom and I do craft fairs so we make lots of things...bags, baby bibs, kitchen towels, hats, etc.
ReplyDeleteI love fabric and so to be able to keep buying more we found that doing craft fairs allows us to buy great fabrics, and it fun to get all the compliments from people when we are doing a craft fair. Even if they don't buy anything!
renjenl21(at)gmail.com
I'm a quilter. I do sew skirts for my girls, but haven't ventured into anything more serious, although I did recently buy a pattern for a skirt for myself and the fabric arrived yesterday....
ReplyDeleteI use my machine almost everyday. I'm pretty addicted.
I just started quilting this year and I'm hoping to do some garment sewing as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm somewhat of a beginner. I love to sew everything so far. You name it, I'd love to sew it!
ReplyDeletemkaralambo(at)gmail(dot)com
for my daughters, my sons, my husband, myself, my nieces and nephews, my home, my pets (beds, not clothes!)... what don't I sew for?
ReplyDeletesarah at frogcreekcottage dot com
I am a try everything novice sewer HA HA! I just had a little girl so it's been fun trying kid stuff, but mostly I've done simple baby blankets and one quilt! I am in the middle of my second quilt. My email address is believe5621@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteRae, you rock. What an awesome giveaway!! Right now, I'm more of a wisher than a sewer. I have a sewing wish list a mile long. After moving to England, my sewing machine is STILL sitting alone in my unfinished work room. It's calling to me so loudly right now that I think it might be the reason I'm losing sleep lately (or that could be my 8-wk-old baby too...).
ReplyDeleteI recently started sewing again because my brother's are having children. I sew clothes for my nieces and nephews, and a friend of mine taught me how to quilt over the summer. This fabric is adorable and I already know what to do with it if I win!
ReplyDeleteI'ma beginner. I enjoy it, but I'm not very good.....yet. This blog is a great inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteamyandmarkroper@yahoo.com
I am reacquainting myself with sewing at the moment...my Granny taught me when I was a very young girl, and now I'm feeling my way around the machine again. I've made simple pillowcase dresses, pajama pants, and now I'm working on heading into more complicated territory. This fantabulous giveaway would certainly help me on my way ;) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteamy dot quinn seven zero at yahoo dot com
I am a binge sew. I take one weekend every few months and sew lounge pants for myself and family and a new duvet cover.
ReplyDeleteI'm 34 years old and I've been actively sewing for over 23 years! :-) What do I sew? Clothes for me (occasionally), aprons, totes, clothes for my daughter, household items, small quilts (on occasion), really anything that picques my interest. My grandma, who was a professional seamstress, taught me how to sew. She taught me to read the patterns and follow the directions. So far, I haven't come across anything I couldn't conquer! It's just a matter of doing it. I love sewing! :-)
ReplyDeletemrstammys {at} hotmail [dot] com
Hi! I AM a SEWER!! :) I don't quilt (don't have the attention span) but I do make clothes and toys for kids or big kids and I also make some adult clothing. Funny... I love to sew kid stuff but don't have any kids of my own (yet) but I do have a slew of lucky friends. I'm currently making a dinosaur and an elephant for a friend that's having a baby boy in Feb. and they're going to be so cute! Can't wait to see more of "Celebrate the boy!". Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteI sew for my daughter. I quilt a little. Whatever. I always have more projects in mind than I have time for.
ReplyDeleteLove this line. Thanks for the giveaway.
lmbrandonsmith at gmail dot com
I am a sewer that likes to try it all.... not so much quilting though. Thanks for a great chance to win!!!
ReplyDeleteaaron.dez(at)gmail.com
I guess I'd call myself an intermediate level seamstress. I like to make all kinds of stuff for myself, my husband, my kids, friends & other family. Clothes are a big item but I really enjoy making purses/bags/clutches. I tried quilting, but I don't have the patience for it. I stick to smaller or quicker projects. I get bored if something takes more than a week! I have a 2 month old so right now I stick to things I can finish in a couple nights. Thanks for the chance to win some fabric. I LOVE the space ships! So would my son :)
ReplyDeleteamber565(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm just about an everything sewer. I started sewing dolls for my daughter. Now I sew blankets and quilt them. I also sew clothes for my kids and myself.
ReplyDeleteI've sewn since I was a little girl (anyone remember the "It's Sew Easy" sewing machine?). I've always been a quilter, but ever since I had my little girl, have been obsessed with sewing tiny clothes for her! Now my 4-year-old son wants me to sew for him too, so I'm branching out into the land of boy clothes. This fabric would be perfect...and I can't wait for Celebrate the Boy, part two!
ReplyDeletesruder(at)sympatico(dot)ca
I love to make things for my kids; clothes, toys, slippers and baby shower gifts!
ReplyDeleteI sew for me, my daughter and recently started quilting. I'm working on at least a dozen projects right now and ALWAYS adding to my fabric "collection". :) That line is FABULOUS! Thanks for hosting the giveaway, Rae!
ReplyDeletemeandmadeline at gmail dot com
I am a craft sewer. I like to make cute things for my kids, my house, and my friends (and me)! I'd love to venture into making some clothes for my kids soon though too!
ReplyDeletejuliebrookeneff at yahoo dot com
I'm a quilter. Reproductions mostly. But I love Anna Maria Horner and some of the other more "modern" designers. I do apparel sewing and home dec, but mostly quilting. I'm really wanting to make some scarf's out of some voile. . . someday. arochster(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of sewer am I? I am a sewer of everything you can think of..mostly handbags and clothing, but also and not limited to decorations, alterations, curtains, slip covers, toys and all sorts of things! Oh and quilts...almost forgot. I just finished 14 clutches, 1 quilt that I am hand quilting at the moment, 6 ribbon embroidery pieces that I am going to sew a fabric border around each before mounting them in an embroidery hoop...and I am sure there is more right now I am forgetting! Great giveaway, I love your blog!
ReplyDeletemarcijdebetaz (at) hotmail {dotcom}
I love to sew clothes for my boys and myself. I started a business sewing aprons and quilts made from baby clothes. I teach a high school Fashion Design class, so I'm always working on something!

I sew for my kids, and I quilt. More of the former than the latter lately, since kids projects are quicker and easier than an entire quilt.
ReplyDeletekatycorgi at yahoo dot com
My projects are sewing mostly geared towards my niece and second eagerly awaited niece, with a couple project for friends thrown in. Sewing has been a relaxing break these past couple months while writing a thesis.
ReplyDeletejackie_lane at hotmail dot com
I love making bags for friends and family...and am going to venture into making clothes for myself after the holidays!
ReplyDeletemary dot kellerman at gmail
Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLast week I finished my first quilt as a birthday gift for my daughter. And now I will quickly return to sewing clothes... Sometimes I sew for myself (skirts, maternity wear), but mostly for my daughter. Sewing for my son is more challenging, since I find it almost impossible to find nice boy fabric.

Wow! Fabulous giveaway! thanks! I mostly sew for my kids or for home decor.
ReplyDeleteavonlynne (at) gmail (dot) com
What a wonderful giveaway! I started altering and embellishing clothes but have progressed to making clothes for my kids. My daughter loves to draw a dress from her imagination and have me sew it.

Hi! I am a,... how would I say?? No definition. I like to sew. I sew for my two little boys, friends, husband,... and I AM SO EXCITED,.. on monday I'm going to participate in my first Art Market (so they call it). I've been sewing mad school bags, pacifier clips, pillows,... well, you'll be able to see it here: www.appleface.eu in a few hours so I'm proceeding to change my domain and it is a slow process. Hope you like it! I usually work with african fabric and I love it, have a look and tell me what you think!
