Thanks so much, Melanie! This is a fantastic prize with so many options! In addition to the awesome stuff Melanie's picked out above, I also really love Above All Fabrics's awesome selection of Oliver+S patterns and City Weekend by Liesl Gibson. I was thrilled with all of the new patterns this fall but this one's a favorite:
and they've got a great selection of Anna Maria Horner flannels and voiles (some of my favorite fabric, SO soft), a few of which I will definitely be ordering, as I cut out a dress for Clementine with the very last of the blue voile I had and promptly lost one of the pieces. This one's another one I don't have enough of though:
and it looks like Melanie will be carrying the Sherbet Pips come April; I just love the adorable little scarves and dogs in that line. Have you seen it yet? It is so. cute. Hurray for fabric! And thanks again Melanie!!!
All of these things are things you could get with your GIFT CERTIFICATE if you win so read carefully before entering!

Working on? The wood stove. This is our first winter in upstate NY, and our first winter with a wood stove, and I am in. love. Normally I don't like hand sewing very much, but lately I've been dreaming up all kinds of excuses to do something productive while I get as close as I can to the stove without incinerating myself.

Oh FABRIC! How I love thee! Let me count the ways.
ReplyDeleteLet's see what have I been making. Well I made us some really cute Christmas stockings. But I actually made them earlier this year in case we ended up moving in December which we did so I've been busy unpacking and decorating for Christmas at the same time.
I posted a couple of the stockings that I made here. http://homesteadersheart.blogspot.com/2010/07/christmas-in-july-day-1-stockings-were.html They were really fun to make.
Have a blessed day.

I finished a wedding gift I started about 3 years ago! It was a quilt and I had a 3 month old at the time of the wedding... not sure what I was thinking. But it's done! And for Christmas gifts, I made shiny capes for all the wee cousins and some tote bags.
ReplyDeleteI love Melanie's shop! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI made a quilt and some Mug Rugs for a swap. I've pretty much just been making what I want to though and skipping the hand made Christmas gifts this year (it's so much less pressure!) If I ever were to get my act together, I would start in January with next year's gifts, but that will NEVER happen!

This is my first year teaching kindergarten so I have been spending time getting various crafts/activities ready for my students. We have made Christmas trees, paper gingerbread men, wreaths, candy cane names, masks to act out the gingerbread man, and reindeer food. Now I can spend time making what I want. I want to make my 2 nieces some little purses. Also, I want to make some fabric gift card holders. Then over the holidays I plan on spending time quilting. Whew I'm exhausted!!

I have been making Christmas presents...and more Christmas presents. My husband and I are celebrating with both of our families this year, and since we are not reeally adults yet, we still exchange gifts with everyone. That means our parents, his 6 brothers, my two sisters, and assorted spouses and girlfriends. So far I have made some flat iron cases (from crapivemade), a pleated clutche, hand warmers/neck muscle rice bags, art folders, a bunting banner clutch (I am going to make a tutorial for this after Christmas), and I still have some aprons and stuffed toys to whip out. It's a little crazy around here, but it is so rewarding to finish so many things!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome giveaway!! Love Above All Fabric and already have my wishlist there ready if I were the lucky winner! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, I have been crazy busy scrambling around finishing Christmas gifts! Just in the last 2 days have made some MAJOR progress.....Christmas Pjs for the fam...that's 8 pair, an apron for mom, tie for her husband, 5 pair flannel lounge pants, 2 pillowcases and oh yea, a matching bib for the baby's pjs so they survive until the pictures! :) Whew....I'm tired! lol! Oh how I love fabric and sewing!!! NEED MORE TIME!!! (thanks for the fun!!!)

ReplyDeleteI've appliqued matching tee shirts for my daughter and i. She's 2 and already has strong opinions about fashion so i thought this year might be my only chance. I made a lickety split bag for my niece but decided to give it to her early. It was actually going to be for me, but as i was sewing the bag up it just sort of whispered that i needed to give it to her and she loves it. I have some cute flannel and i hope to make a pair of the big butt baby pants as pjs for my daughter for christmas. I can't find her stocking so that might end up being another sewing opportunity! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletemjensenthackery at gmail dot com

I'm also working on some knitting projects and will need to fit in some baking too, but I'm pretty sure I can get it all done...
